One Nation Empowers Ho Central Constituency with Livelihood Support
One Nation, a UK-based NGO, has distributed essential items, including sewing machines, farming equipment, fertilizers, weedicides, and spraying machines, to underprivileged constituents of Ho Central. The gesture, aimed at alleviating poverty, also included copies of the Quran, drinking water, and hot meals.
According to Sheik Ibrahim Mahama, Country Director of One Nation, the initiative targets poor individuals in the Islamic community, but also extends support to Christians in need. “The gesture is directed at the many poor people in the Islamic Community,” he said, adding that beneficiaries are selected based on specific criteria.
Shabir Patel, Leader of One Nation, emphasized the organization’s focus on sustainable, long-term projects. “We’re focusing on sustainable long-term wealth creation projects beyond the hot meals. We don’t only feed, we teach people how they can feed themselves,” he said.
The Member of Parliament for Ho Central Constituency, NDC, praised the collaboration, stating that it empowers the people to create sustainable income. “These are very fruitful collaborations to empower the people of the Ho Central Constituency to create sustainable income,” he said, adding that his office is working to bring more developmental projects to the area.
The initiative has brought hope to the constituents, who expressed gratitude for the support. As the MP noted, “My office is working so hard to bring in more of such developmental projects to the people.”
